Suggestions for More Productive Project Status Meetings – Part 1


  1. Schedule the meeting on an appropriate, regular, and well publicized basis.
  2. Create an agenda. Understand the meeting’s desired outcomes. and plan the meeting processes.
  3. Standardize the agenda as much as possible.
  4. Create meeting ground-rules with the project team.
  5. Only invite the required people (which will change over the project life cycle).
  6. Keep the meeting as short as possible, and probably no longer than one hour.
